Newborns
Newborn portraiture is something that you will cherish forever. Those tiny feet that you kiss today in your sleep-deprived state will too soon be walking into their kindergarten classroom.
Documenting a newborn is so intimate, and will be done in the comfort of your home. In-home sessions are lifestyle in nature - more real and interactive. Capturing authentic expressions of the parents, siblings, pets with baby really are something to treasure. During these sessions, I also take shots of the baby alone - usually a combination of semi-posed, swaddled, yawning, sleeping and wide-eyed. I like for you to have a good mix of shots in your gallery.
FAQ
your questions answered
When should I schedule the shoot?
I take a limited number of sessions per month so I recommend contacting me to book when you are around 5 months pregnant. This will ensure that you have a spot for the month that you plan on delivering.
How old should the baby be when we shoot?
I prefer the baby to be around 2-3 weeks old. If the baby is a little younger or a little older that it is fine. I've photographed babies as young as seven days and as old as a month.
What time of day should we plan to shoot?
Considering that I only use natural light, I like to start the shoot around 10:30-11 am and finish in the early afternoon. This gives us optimal lighting.
